Esther Mireya Tejeda is the Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S. Entercom reaches over 170 million people each month through a robust portfolio of over 230 radio stations, live events and digital platforms, and is the nation’s unrivaled leader in news and sports radio.
Tejeda joined Entercom in 2016 to build the company’s first communications and public relations function and lead the communications strategy for the company’s transformational merger with CBS Radio. She oversees internal and external communications, including business and industry media relations; public relations for the company’s local radio stations and podcast networks; national event publicity; financial communications; crisis communications and corporate reputation management; and executive visibility.
Tejeda has held leadership posts at blue chip organizations including Univision, PepsiCo, and Diageo since beginning her career in communications at Ogilvy Action, a WPP firm. Some of her most notable work includes launching the communications group for Univision’s sports business, and leading Univision Deportes to national recognition as a power player in sports media during its 2014 partnership with FIFA World Cup. Tejeda was also instrumental in reimagining the communications for the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2012 and 2013 and Pepsi’s first-ever global marketing campaign, “Live for Now.”
Throughout her career, Tejeda has been recognized as a “Woman to Watch” by PRWeek; among the “Top Women in PR” by PRNews, the “Media Relations Professional of the Year” by PR Daily, and the “Maverick of the Year” by the Stevie Awards. She has also been named among the “Most Influential Women in Radio” by Radio Ink Magazine in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and has earned multiple MarCom, PRNews, and PR Daily Awards for her campaigns.
Tejeda currently serves on the board of the Alliance for Women in Media and previously served on the board of the Hispanic Public Relations Association from 2017 until 2020.
Tejeda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from The New School. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French.
