Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) was promoting an upcoming Florence and the Machine Concert in Kansas City. They needed a campaign to increase ticket sales among their fan base of 18-49 year-old alternative rockers and wanted to position radio against Pandora to confirm which medium generates more ticket sales.
How we helped: AEG partnered with our Kansas City station, 96.5 The Buzz and Pandora to offer “super fans” tickets before going on sale to the general public. Both audio brands created a pre-sale promo code for their listeners with identical offers. 96.5 The Buzz created a digital marketing campaign including mobile marketing, e-newsletters, and social media.
Results: 96.5 The Buzz outperformed Pandora 14:1, selling almost 2,280 tickets with Pandora selling less than 170 tickets. AEG was impressed with the reach and effectiveness of radio.
