Anoka, a Northwest suburb of Minneapolis, hosts an annual Christmas Tree Lighting event each year. The city wanted to create buzz and excitement surrounding the event in order to drive event attendees to come early to shop the retailers and dine at the restaurants.
How we helped: Entercom Minneapolis created a high-frequency, one-week radio and streaming campaign on WCCO Radio. We used :15 second spots the first year, followed by short traffic/weather sponsorships in following years stating “brought to you by the Anoka Christmas Tree Lighting.”
Results: Over five years, the attendance grew to over 15,000+, nearly as much as the town’s population. Guests came from as far away as 75 miles. Sales increased by 88%.
